Nearing the End of my Journey

I graduate in four weeks, Wowzer! It's so exciting, I finally get to wear my big girl panties. College really has flown by; so many incredible things have happened.

I feel so fortunate that I love my degree and I have absolutely adored my student teaching experience. What a range sixth grade to kindergarten; so far I have enjoyed every grade I have been in, but I really love kindergarten.

I mean it's not everyday that you get to hear and witness constant compliments (if one of the students says it, they all have to say it), unconditional smiles, endless effort, or receiving hundreds of hugs everyday. They are so full of life and eager to learn and I just love that. Everything is exciting for them and I love getting to see their journey of learning. Kindergarten kiddos do the funniest things; I have so many good stories. I feel kind of embarrassed saying this; today we were talking about things we are thankful for (it's almost Thanksgiving, so this is a must!), and towards the end the students asked what I was thankful for and while choking back tears, I said I was thankful for my sweet kindergarteners. Now, maybe I am the sappy type but I definitely was not expecting to tear up just speaking about what I was thankful for but I am thankful that I get to do something I love. That's all for now, folks. Have a wonderful, wonderful Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to mine; chasing Amanda with the turkey, laughing hysterically with my sisters, seeing my adorable nephews, and just being with my awesome, hoot of a family!!

Thats all for now folks, Happy Thanksgiving!

Love Makes Me SICK!

Isn't that a really clever line???? Don't you want to know what I am going to say.... does Jeremiah make me sick, yes he does!

I have documented my illnesses since I have been married (approximately one year, three months, and 29 days), I have been more sick than I have ever been in my life! In this past blessed year I have incurred mono (from Miah), two stomach bugs, three sinus infections, multiple codes, I mean colds, mono again, and last but not list the piggy sniffles (actually they only test for type A flu, but at least all who freak out about the swine flu, H1N1, whatever you want to call it I survived, it was actually less evil than the regular flu).

What a year! I account Jeremiah with some of my illnesses but also being around several kiddos could possibly play a part :), and probably my sickly immune system...

Anywho, change is on the horizon in the Hussung house/apartment; we graduate in two months and half months! I can't believe it! Quite honestly, I deal with change horribly, when I was a little girl I use to put books on my head so I would never get taller and I also wished to be Peter Pan (I know I was an odd child). Even now, I always stress about change, I like to hold things close to my heart, it takes me forever to make a decision and I like things the way they are. Jeremiah has had several interviews in various parts of Kentucky and Tennessee, so who knows dear people, but when we know I will let you know. Well laundry is done and so it is time to say adieu.

Back in Black!

Ahhh... it's been so long since I have written. I am in my fourth week of teaching and I love it. Granted everyday is a random, crazy adventure, but I it's worth it. I love working with my sixth grade class; I love building relationships, teaching, and seeing the little light bulbs go off in their heads. Only annoying thing about teaching are these three questions:

1. Mrs. Hussung, can I go to the restroom?
2. Mrs. Hussung, what are we doing???? (when I have just told them).
3. Mrs. Hussung, did you know it's recess? (I want to be like really, is it???)

Ha, I get those questions the most. One bummer thing about being married is my last name. For the life of me, my students still struggle with my name!! Sometimes I resort to just call me Mrs. H. Oh the days when life was simple being a Montgomery girl!

Random name that I get called are: Mrs. Hussein, Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Hutchinson, Mrs. Hussu, Mrs. Hussun, and Mrs. what's your name!!

You gotta love those students! I can't believe 4 weeks, I will be leaving my sweet sixth graders, to little, energetic kindergartners!

Tigers

Hmmm... I start student teaching next Monday. Jeremiah starts school on August 31. Pretty sweet, I know. I love summers and they always seem to fly by, always. I kind of like to reflect (thanks to my Block I & II teachers), and with summer I think of all little wonderful memories. I let you read some of the highlights:

(I know this is exciting for you, these highlights are in no particular order.)

1. One year anniversary, including Indianapolis, Wicked, and Jeremiah. It was awesome from the drive up, to walking downtown, to being amazed by the musical, going in to random antique stores, little shops, to a romantic dinner(s) with Miah.

2. Visiting with Alice. I loved getting to spend time with her this summer, not as much as I would like, but still I love visiting with that awesome little lady! I mean who doesn't want to hang out with someone who let's you get temporary tattoos! I will miss her so much when she is in Richmond and then finally Africa.

3. My weekly adventures with Jo. I never get to have these as often as I would like when school starts. I mean who doesn't love stalking the aisles of Hobby Lobby wishing that had enough fun money for all they wanted:)))

4. Vi sting with my family. I have such a big family, on both sides (lots of Montgomerys and Hussungs!). They are all so different and special to me.

5. Finally summer fun things, like swimming, strolling downtown, concerts, singing with pops outside, picnics, the beach, reading outside, playing softball (the noncompetitive team will always hold a special place in my heart), eating popsicles, and cookouts, I just love it all!

Summer is my favorite season, but fall is a close second. I am looking for what the Lord has in store for Jeremiah and me. Student teaching I know will be challenging but I am really excited. This is all for now.

As Pretty as a Picture

It has been a much busier summer than I had expected; but then again it always is. It is always nice to just have some down time, which I was able to do yesterday....

It was Father's day and it was such a good day, filled with family and memories in the making. After visiting Jeremiah's parents, I arrived at mom and dad's house. I was really excited about my gift for dad; Jeremiah and I were laughing because, we got his father this Expository Genius of John Calvin (Jeremiah's idea of course) and I found my dad an awesome 1970's magazine of the Beatles at this antique mall. I think he really liked it, anyways....

The point of my blog is as the night closed to an end, dad and I, while mom watered the plants brought out the guitar and just sang on the front porch. My dad is like a living jukebox in the fact he knows most oldies and rock n roll (although I have introduced him to some new music), I just love that precious time with my dad. Singing and laughing... looking at God's creation around us and just enjoying every moment. I know now these moments are precious and few.

Next week, Jeremiah and I go to the beach with my bf Jospehine and Thomas; I am so excited. I am a beach baby! I love the water, the sand, and the whole thing, (Jeremiah once said he would like the beach if there wasn't any sand, water, or sun), so hopefully I can introduce him to the world of wave riding, boogie boarding, shell searching, nightwalks, and sandcastles! I will let you know how it all goes!

Till I write again,

Jessie

Greetings, I am writing from a small Computer

Jeremiah and I are embarking (don't you love that word) on our one year anniversary; I am also writing to you on what I feel like the smallest computer known to man (aka the dell mini) Maybe I just have big fingers but it takes me forever to type on this thing and somehow I will press a button and it will delete everything I have written, so it is highly probable that this post will not even make it to my blog. Oh well, we also got a wireless router and so I am typing from my bed, waiting on my sweet husband to come for the coal mines or the place where countless of you get you white mocha and frappuccino whatzies. I can't sleep without Jeremiah, many of you may find that endearing but I don't like suffering from lack of sleep, plus I miss him when he is gone.

After a year, I still get excited when I hear is ringtone (which is Thriller) announcing that he is on his way home. We are celebrating our one year by going to Indianapolis to see Wicked and toot around the historic district. We are staying in a Bed & Breakfast (I love these maybe one day I will devote an entire post devoted to B&B's.) Anywho that is what we are doing, I am just excited to be with Jeremiah and enjoy a relaxing weekend with my husband. Anyways this computer is doing crazy things and literally has taken my almost thirty minutes to type this blasted post. Anyways I have loved being married for a whole year :))) Besides following Jesus it was the best decision I have ever made.

Until next time,

Jessie
